I just returned from a lengthy and absolutely incredible safari in Tanzania where I shot about 14 hours of dv footage with my Panasonic AGDVX-100a. In addition to the images of African wildlife, I also managed to film some "controlled burning" on the plains (where they intentionally start wildfires to prevent the uncontrolled growth of plants and weeds that would eventually dominate the ecosystem) which yeilded some incredible shots of hundreds of birds feasting on the insects as they fled the smoke and wary Lions watching as the flames grew near. I also managed to make an astounding field recording of a 40 minute traditional vocal performance given by a Massai tribe that will go down in my memory as one of the mosr exciting and genuinely thrilling experiences of my life. Look for a number of videos to be posted on the "NEW CLIPS" page in the coming weeks which will spotlight my Tanzanian footage.
